Crispy Palak Onion pakora/bhajji

In this post I am sharing my recipe of "Palak Onion Pakora/bhajji". It goes well with tea as a quick evening snack.


Ingredients:
  • Spinach(palak) chopped -2 cup
  • Onion sliced-1 cup
  • Cooking oil for shallow frying
  • Green chillies chopped-2(according to taste)
  • A pinch of asafetida(hing)
  • Gram flour(besan)-5 to 6 tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder(according to taste)
  • Salt(according to taste)

Process:
  • Put chopped spinach in a bowl


  • Slice onion and chop green chillies for bhajji


  • Add sliced onion and chopped green chillies into the chopped spinach



  • Add gram flour(besan) in the bowl

  • Add a pinch of asafetida(hing) and 1/4 tsp red chilli powder


  • Add 1/4 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder and salt(according to taste)




  • Add 3 to 4 tbsp water and mix well, keep it aside for 5 to 10 min. 
       Tip:- Don't add much water, spinach and onion will also release some water, if required add more        gram flour.



  • Heat the pan and put oil for shallow fry


  • Put bhajji mixture one by one in the pan 

  • Once it cooked from bottom sides, flip it and let it cook from other side



  • Once done, take it out in a plate

  • Sprinkle chat masala and serve hot with chutney
