Oats uttapam/Oats chilla

In this post I am going share a south indian delicious breakfast (Uttapam) with a healthy twist



Serves:2-3
Ingredients:
  • Oats-1 cup
  • Sooji/rava-1/2 cup
  • 4 Green chillies chopped(to taste)
  • Curd/yogurt-1/2 cup
  • Cilantro chopped-1/4 cup
  • 1/2 medium size onion chopped finely
  • Salt(to taste)
Process:
  • Take oats and put it in a mixer and grind it to make powder




  • Take out grind oats in a bowl 

  • Add 1/2 cup sooji/rava into the oats


  •  Add curd and some water to make a smooth batter (not very thick or thin), so that it is easy to spread



  • Prepare all other ingredients green chillies chopped, onion chopped and cilantro chopped as shown in the picture below

  •  Add them in the batter and add salt(to taste) , and mix well


  • Heat the pan on medium heat


  •  Put few drops of oil 


  •  Take a wet tissue paper and clean the oil with this wet tissue paper , as shown in the picture below


  •  Spread the oats batter in the pan


  •  let it cook from bottom sides 


  • Put few drops of oil on the top of uttappam, and after 3 to 4 min flip it and let it cook from other sides





  •  Now it properly cooked 


  •  Take it out in a plate and serve hot with sauce and chutney
