Poha

Poha is a very common breakfast in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, it is very easy to cook and a very healthy option for breakfast. In this post I am going to share the recipe of Poha.

Fun fact :- I know people eating poha for 20+ years every day and still not bored of it!!



 Serves  : 2

 Ingredients :-
  • Thick poha - 1 bowl
  • 1/2 medium size onion chopped
  • 1 green chilli 
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • 1tsp Mustard seeds 
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds  
  • 1tsp grated Ginger  
  • Few curry leaves  
  • Chopped cilantro 
  • Raw peanuts 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • Salt according to taste

 You can get better idea of qualities of the ingredients from the pictures posted below :-
  • Wash and drain the water from poha in a strainer, and keep it aside for 15 minute


  • Cut onion, ginger and green chili


  • Heat Oil in a pan and and add some raw peanuts
















  • Roast till they are brown 





















  • Keep peanuts aside , and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chili ,ginger and chopped  onion
































  • Saute till it is golden brown
















  • Add turmeric, and salt and saute a little bit
















  • Add the poha
















  • Mix it well (1 minute) and simmer the stove
















  • Add peanuts and chopped cilantro leaves and it's done
















  • Serve with bhujia on the top of poha
