Methi Paratha

Methi paratha is a very healthy option for breakfast, and quite easy to prepare. In this post I am going to share the recipe of Methi Paratha which you can prepare with common ingredients available at  home.

Trivia :- Paratha's name is amalgation of parat and atta!!



Serves :- 4
Ingredients :-
  • 4 cup Wheat flour(Atta)
  • Methi leaves 1 bunch
  • Cooking oil 
  • 3 Green chillis (According to taste)
  • 4 to 5 cloves of garlic grated
  • 1 tbsp grated Ginger
  • Pinch of Asafoetida(hing) 
  • 2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 3 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 3 tsp Salt (according to taste)
Process :- 
  •  Wash methi leaves and drain the water from methi leaves and chop it finely


  • Prepare the ingredients , chop green chillies and grate ginger and garlic as shown in picture 
           



  • Take the wheat flour in a bowl and add chopped methi leaves 
     

  • Add  2 tbsp of oil and all other ingredients green as following :- chili, garlic, ginger , turmeric powder , cumin powder , coriander powder , red chilli powder.
 

  • Mix it well
   

  • Make the dough and make sure the dough is little bit soft , the dough can be stored for later use in refrigerator.
  • Pour 1 tsp oil on the dough and wrap it and keep it aside for 30 minutes 

  • Now make small balls of dough,  and add some wheat flour and roll into a circle  

  • After heating tawa, place the paratha on the tawa and soon u will see some bubbles on the base of paratha then flip the paratha, and wait till the other side is half cooked.
  • Then  spread some oil on the paratha, and flip it couple of times till it is cooked.


  • Serve paratha with Raita or curd
