Crispy urad dal ke pakodi

Ideal for evening snacks on a nice rainy day, this pakodi's can be made quickly and everyone's favorite too.




Serves:2-3
Ingredients:
  • Split urad dal/dhuli urad dal-1/2 cup
  • Cooking oil for shallow fry
  • Curry leaves-10-12
  • 4-6 green chillies chopped(to taste)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • Salt (to taste)
Process:
  • Wash and soak urad dal overnight or atleast 6 to 7 hours



  • This is how it looks like after it is soaked overnight


  • Put soaked dal in to grinder and grind it to make thick paste, if required add little bit of water, but don't add too much water



  • Take it out in a bowl
 

  • Prepare other ingredients chopped green chillies, chopped curry leaves, chopped cilantro and onion as shown in the picture below


  • Add chopped green chillies, cilantro, onion and curry leaves and 1tsp salt(to taste) in to dal paste


  • Mix well 


  • Heat oil in the pan on medium flame.


  • Put pakodi in the pan and shallow fry from one side

  • When bottom sides of pakodi are brown then flip it and shallow fry from other sides


  • Take it out in plate on a tissue paper for soaking access oil


  • Serve hot with chutney and sauce
